Yun to rukhsati ki humne ijazat maang li,
Diwangi ki intihaan ki hadd baandh di,
Muskurate labon ki salwaton ko jaane kaise,
Unhone badalte mausam ki ghata maan li.
Yeh shor ki gunj, yeh sawaalon ki ladi,
Yeh naraz nazrein, yeh ankahi boli,
Yeh oos ki boondon ko palkon se rok lena,
Yeh bistar ko chupke se bhigo dena.
Aaj fir amber mein lehre uthi hain,
Badlon ki kori chadar fir udi hai,
Apni hatheli mein kuch jazbaat chupaye baithe hain,
Par unhone bhi humein dhoke ki chadar bhent ki hai.
